Making the most of these sunny days painting project outside

We have been hosting wax events, to work out a new format for a mini workshop. At these events we have been testing the waxes on different paint colours to demonstrate what can be achieved as a decorative finish, with the waxes. We love the white wax on Paris Grey, Duck Egg, and especially the Amsterdam Green (our favourite of the 'colours')! The black wax works well as an alternative to the brown dark wax giving a more modern rustic look. Practicing with the waxes as part of the demonstrations definitely gives customers more confidence to give them a go. We have found that customers sometimes struggle with the application of the wax and we give lots of advice and handy tips as we go along. This mini workshop is now available for booking.

Few have tried it, even the most ardent Annie Sloan fans can be hesitant about giving it a go, but fabric dying with chalk paint is amazing, and we've got the workshop to show you. Yes, you honestly can use the paint to dye fabric- this makes the possibilities with chalk paint even more greater. We are super excited about this new workshop, designed alongside Angi in Nineteen, with much preparation in the studio, creating lots of samples to inspire and experiment. It's liberating and exciting, just to get creative and you only need a small project pot and some water! New lampshades and cushions are starting to appear in the shop created using chalk paint dye too.

We have designed a new layout on our Introduction to Annie Sloan Chalk Paint workshop. . .  just a re-fresh as we have run this workshop the longest and new products have been added. Whilst more expensive, it gives you a comprehensive overview of all you would need to know for chalk painting. We cover painting techniques, working with different brushes, waxing and decorative wax, craqueleur and colour mixing, creating a sketchbook type board as you go along. This hands on experience makes you confident to tackle any paint project at home. This workshop is packed with info so we give you a notebook to take away along with a 10% off Annie Sloan voucher for use on the day.

We do take on a few small commissions from customers and this month we gilded a zebra! And we are painting a small tall boy chest of drawers in a favourite combo of French Linen with black waxed handles.
