This month saw the much loved meticulous ink return with their contemporary hand-lettering workshop. Athena is so so lovely and really attentive to her attendees. we are adding part two to this workshop to our website, its a great workshop for those who have already been to hand lettering but want to get more creative and learn about layout, joining lettering and adding your own personal flair to hand lettering. We are so grateful that she comes from bath to do this workshop with us.
Continuing to host our Annie Sloan basic workshop. Bec took the lead and became the tutor for the second time, with plenty of experience, painting furniture for the shop. she says . . .it has been great to step into this role. I love painting and have gained so much knowledge paintimg various furniture for the shop i loved passing it on . . . people are always saying that you get the bug for annie sloan and once you start you look at everything in your house differently, its so so true! On this workshop we go through everything you need to know. It's info packed! I always end with a dry mouth from chatting away too much, hopefully attendees understand I'm just passionate.
We have spend a lot of time creating new workshops this year to inspire you to paint everything! with Annie Sloan, our much loved decorative effects workshop is soon to have its first workshop. We are super excited and have fallen for the idea of throwing the rule book out for how to paint on this one it is creative and fun, anything goes to create something that looks old. Plenty of techniques to turn a new wooden trug into a decorative piece for your home.
It was a quick turn around in the studio. someone planned lampshade making workshop after a paint workshop, oops! Vic! Nothing a bowl of warm soapy water couldn't sort out, think there was a miss-count on cakes too that day. . . there was so so much to go around. think the tutor left with some, and all our neighbours over the road did too! plus we both had at least three pieces, can't beat chocolate brownie on a Saturday. As everyone brings there own fabric to this workshop its always a surprise to see what gets made, as always a lovely group and lovely shades were made.
We absolute love Kathy Hutton's work and since we have met her we wanted her to do a screen printing workshop with us. Its felt like a long time in the waiting as our calendar of workshops is always pre-planned 6 months ahead so this was the first date we could offer Kathy. Well the workshop didn't disappoint. Learning a technique so you can screen print at home. kathy guided attendees to create a simple design to print onto a canvas bag or tea towel. With plenty of amazing inspiration to hand everyone created amazing designs. Loved how everyone lend a hand as it was a two man job to print.
